Introduction to Yatra Books

Yatra Books commenced operations in January 2005. It is a Registered Partnership Firm. Yatra signed an MOU with Penguin Books India in January 2005 and launched 4 Hindi titles in April 2005. This was the first time that Penguin, in association with Yatra Books, ventured into a non-English language worldwide. We have since published over 120 titles in Hindi, Marathi and Urdu . Our collaborator Penguin India Pvt. Ltd., established in October 1987, is today Asia's leading English-language trade publisher, with over 1000 titles in print, including works by most of the Subcontinent's best writers. This joint initiative was, therefore, the next logical step in their growth as a publisher. In 2008, we plan to incorporate Yatra Books and have extensive expansion plans which will be functional once the incorporation is complete.
